Experienced Pet sitters

Position: In-Home Pet Sitter (independent contractor/part-time)
Location: Arlington, Winchester, Lexington, and other Metro West locations

We are seeking responsible, dog-loving caregivers to provide overnight care in client’s homes for dogs and possibly other small animals. Overnight dog sitters provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment while owners are away. This role is ideal for individuals who are able to be at the home most of the day (or Work From Home) and enjoy providing one-on-one attention to dogs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overnight care and supervision for dogs in a client’s home

  • Maintain dogs’ normal routines, including feeding, walks, exercise, and medication (if needed)

  • Offer plenty of companionship, affection, and enrichment

  • Ensure dogs are kept safe, secure, and comfortable at all times

  • Communicate regularly with the pet parents, including sending updates and photos

  • Follow all care instructions provided by the owner

  • Keep a clean, dog-friendly home environment

  • Care for other small animals living in the household

  • Do light household duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Experience owning or caring for dogs (professional or personal)

  • Ability to be at the client’s home for the majority of the day and overnight

  • Reliable, responsible, and attentive to detail

  • Comfortable handling dogs of varying sizes, breeds, and energy levels

  • Able to transport dogs in case of emergency

  • Smartphone with internet access for scheduling and communication

  • Must pass a background check and complete the IRS W-9 form

  • At least two client references with name and phone number

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with pet sitting, daycare, or rescue

  • Comfortable administering oral and injectable medications

  • Basic understanding of dog behavior and body language

  • Income over $2000/year is subject to 1099 reporting in 2026
