Marielle Andersson
Marielle moved to Winchester from Sweden in August last year with her family, including two elementary aged children. Shortly after arriving in the U.S., they adopted Leif, who became an Active Waggers client. Marielle is a trained chef by profession, but has always loved dogs, and when the position with Active Waggers became available, she jumped at the chance to spend hours outside with Leif and other dogs.

Vicky Brienza
Vicky lives in Everett with her husband Harry, and her furry baby, Charlie. As an empty nester now, she loves long walks especially at the beach with Charlie. Vicky’s passion for dogs started at a very young age and hasn’t stopped. She has had many breeds but she always goes back to her favorite: the German Shepherd. Vicky spent several years breeding and showing German Shepherds.

Thomas Caouette
Thomas grew up in Lexington and spends most of his free time outdoors. Specifically, he enjoys riding mountain and dirt bikes in the woods. Thomas has a golden retriever named Shirley who loves coming on bike rides or walks with him. Spending time with animals and being outdoors are two of his favorite things, which is makes working for Active Waggers a win win!

Charlene Cormier
Charlene is a resident of Arlington. She's lived here with her family for twenty-five years. Most of her career has been In Biotech and Pharma. Taking a well-needed break, she now works part-time as a Talent Acquisition Consultant from home, which gives her lots of time to play with her "little girl," Shitzu-Bichon mix Skylar. She's been looking to pivot her career and do something that fills her soul, being with animals, particularly dogs. Her dog brings sunshine into their family's lives and fills their home with more love.

Christine Cronin
Christine started helping with hikes and boarding in 2019, and she has quickly become a favorite with many dogs. A native of Arlington, Christine lives in Belmont with her two dogs, Rocky and Avery. While not out on the trails, Christine helps elderly people downsize their homes into more manageable living spaces.

LEVI FEIGENBAUM
Levi hails from Cambridge and has spent most of his life in the Boston area (aside from a college stint in Chicago) and always had dogs growing up. Levi has a puppy and loves to bring her on hikes. When he isn’t on the tnails you can find him helping out with his parents’ small dance shoe company or watching basketball with friends.

Rebecca Goldberg
Rebecca (Becca) Goldberg lives in Salem with her cat, Baby Bear. A lifelong pet owner and animal lover, she boards and pet-sits full time when she isn’t leading hikes and is usually covered in pet hair. When she isn’t hanging out with animals she can be found at the beach or a coffee shop trying to read three books at a time.

Lorraine Gryp
Lorraine was a long time resident of Lexington now retired and residing in Woburn with her husband and dog, Maggie Mae (a Sato). Starting from early childhood dogs have always been a part of her life. Besides hiking her dog in the woods, Lorraine enjoys her two grandchildren, two granddogs and golfing.

Sue Hendessi
Sue is a resident of Winchester but grew up in Hudson, MA. Sue lives with her husband and twin children near the Fells and has quickly become a favorite of our dogs with her generous treats! Many years ago Sue worked for another dog daycare operation picking up dogs for playgroup and has been a lifelong dog owner herself.

Marek Jacisin
Marek is originally from the Czech Republic and came to the US in 1986, first to California and then to Massachusetts. He now lives in Arlington with his rescue Golden Retriever Zorro. While not hiking dogs, Marek teaches ceramics at the Office for the Arts at Harvard University. He is a digital artist and photographer and loves taking pictures and creating fun posts with the dogs.

Dan Matlack
Dan Matlack was born in raised in Arlington until he went to the University of Vermont in 2015 to study psychology and music. While in college, he took care of many different dogs whether it was dog walking or dog sitting. After graduating college, Dan stayed in Vermont to work with at-risk children. After moving back home to Arlington, Dan is trying to focus more on animal care, mainly specializing in cats and dogs.

Meagan McGarry
Meaghan lives in Winchester with her husband, 2 daughters, and Golden Retriever, Betty. Betty herself is a long-term AW client, having started in the Puppy Playgroups during COVID. Meaghan has always loved all dogs, big or small. She grew up with a Golden Retriever and had a Beagle before Betty. She has always loved taking her dogs into the Fells, to the beach, and seeing the pure joy they have when able to run off-leash and sneak a dip into the water.

Michaela O’Shaugnessy
Michaela lives in Arlington with husband, three children and beloved Husky-Lab mix, Smooch. A dog lover from the start, Michaela has always surrounded herself with furry companions, whether through ownership or work. She relishes her time with the dogs as the hikes provide a nice balance for the native Rhode Islander who is a writer and the managing editor of a local publication.

Jennifer Sampson
Jennifer lives in Burlington with her own Black Mouth Cur. She has been passionate about animals all her life and has many years of experience hiking and boarding dogs at her home. She loves bringing dogs she cares for to the Burlington dog park and out for hikes in the woods.

Cheryl Browne
Cheryl has lived in Somerville since 2003. She currently lives with dog-loving housemates and her 11-yr-old furbaby, Bodhi, in a big single-family house with a fenced backyard. She’s lived with dogs her whole life, mostly mixed breed rescues who were surrendered at least once by previous owners and adopted as middle-aged adults. She currently walks a few dogs part-time and does other part-time work from home. She’s thrilled to meet more furry friends and care for them while their humans are away.

Christine is a resident of Lexington who has loved and lived with dogs and cats her whole life. A retired media writer without pets now, she likes the freedom to travel but misses having furry friends at home. Hosting other people’s pets is the perfect fit for her. She has a flexible schedule and likes the fun, companionship and regular exercise that her part-time boarder pets provide.

MEGHAN DENT
Meg lives in Somerville with her husband Warren and their two young kids. Meg has been working with dogs since college, when she spent summers walking dogs in the Winchester Fells. She went on to manage a dog daycare for years, and has continued pet-sitting steadily for the past two decades. Now she’s happy to be working with Active Waggers, getting to meet and care for new doggy friends when their owners are out of town!

KORI KAUFMANN
Kori grew up in Western Mass alongside different family dogs (mostly small, white and fluffy). After realizing she wanted a dog of her own, she shared her home with a cockapoo named Lupe for almost 15 years. Kori volunteered at Shultz’s Guest House for 10 years and started dog sitting for friends and coworkers. Kori works for a small law firm in Waltham. She is a part-time dog sitter for Active Waggers and welcomes dogs to her home in Newton.

Christopher Keene
Chris lives with his family in Arlington Heights in a single-family house with a nice fenced-in yard. They had canine companions for the last 16 years, and while they were recently heartbroken to have had to say goodbye to Charlie, they would love to host your good boy or girl. Beyond the basic necessities of pet care, they can give your dog a very nice hour-long walk in the morning along the Minuteman bike path, Arlington Reservoir, and Ottoson Woods.

ROSE ANNE & KEN KRUTT
Rose Anne and Ken Krutt have resided in Winchester for 30 years. Their beloved dachshund, Dagwood passed away several years ago leaving a deep void in their lives. As empty-nesters approaching retirement from healthcare professions, they love the short term commitment of watching other people’s dogs. You can often see them walking in Whipple Hill.

NETTIE LAGACE
Nettie lives in West Medford and can be seen every morning in the Fells with her Chocolate Lab Ringo and his gigantic sticks. Nettie works from home and has a big fenced in yard. She has been boarding for Active Waggers since 2017 and helps out from time to time with hikes. Nettie is especially fond of labs but is willing to take all sorts of dogs.

TINA MONTI
Tina was a Winchester resident for 20 years, starting her family there. She now resides in Woburn and her home overlooks the lovely second Fairway of the Woburn country club with her older children. Her two 4-footed boys (Leo & Bowser) don’t mind sleepovers and want to share their beautiful fenced in backyard and quiet neighborhood for fun walks with some other dog friends.

CANDACE MULLANE
Candace is an animal lover with over 5 years of experience dogsitting and dog walking. She grew up in Winchester for 22 years with her beloved family poodle, Cocoa. She now lives in Woburn with her parents and their cat, Max. Her main job is dog sitting so she is home the vast majority of the time when she is taking care of her clients. Her cat gets along with the dogs that board, although he can be shy at first. Candace loves the company and companionship she gets from the dog she sits as well as built in outdoor time they provide.

Daina Ozols
Daina is a Boston native and Winchester resident since 2007. She lives with her husband, teenage twins and dog Gracie. Daina and husband Eric, adopted their first dog, a lab mix named Duncan before they got married. This past summer Ginger, another rescue passed away, leaving Gracie with no playmate at home. Daina decided to start boarding and walking dogs as a way to introduce Gracie to some new friends. The whole family is enjoying getting to know all these different dog personalities.

MAUREEN PAGLIUCA
Maureen lives in Woburn with her two teenage children and pup AJ. Maureen is a part time dental assistant in Winchester but has quite a bit of experience with animals. She has worked in an animal hospital and did dog walking and sitting in Boston. She has a lot of experience with boarding. Her two favorite places to be now are walking her dog in the Fells or Burlington Rez.

Lisa Rowe
Lisa has been a dog owner her entire life and has been boarding dogs for the past two years at her home in Melrose.She started out pet sitting for friends and family, and very quickly branched her services out to others by word of mouth. She currently has two dogs named Henry and Baby, a cat named Bonnie and a bunny named Thumper. She tries to spend as much of my spare time as possible outdoors with her fur babies!

CHEYENNE SELF
Cheyenne lives in Winchester with her husband and dog. When she isn’t caring for dogs she is a public health professional. She has been caring for animals since about the age of 5 when she got her first puppy, Jake. Since then she has cared for pets and people, through pet ownership, dog sitting and her work as a public health professional.

Kim Wallace
Kim has lived in Massachusetts her whole life. She grew up on the South Shore in Quincy and moved to Winchester in 2001. She lives with her husband, 3 kids (18 years old and 15 year old twins) and her adorable cockapoo Pippa across from the Fells Reservation. Kim grew up with dogs and has a tender spot for all furry friends. She loves taking walks in the woods with Pippa and enjoying the outdoors.

KIM WHITWORTH
Kim has had a dog for most of her life. Her last dog recently passed away and she decided not get a new buddy right for now. She has owned horses in Vermont where she has a farm. She loves to take dogs to the farm in the summer where they can hike and swim in the river. Her daughter has a lake house that she sometimes visit where the dogs can swim to their hearts' content. Quiet time on the couch, playing with toys and walks completes a rewarding day. Kim knows how much your furry friend means to you and she will treat them with love and caring.
